Father Peter Bowes is an ordained Priest and Master Teacher in the Order of Christ Sophia. He was trained by the Holy Order of MANS in the 1970s and was ordained a minister in 1974. In 1979, he left the Holy Order of MANS, and on April 11, 1982, Master Raeson Ruiz from that Order ordained him a Priest and Teacher. He has been teaching and training people ever since. In 1999, he co-founded the Order of Christ Sophia and began the Centers of Light with Mother Clare Watts. In 2008, the two began wearing purple robes to signify their spiritual mastery as “Western Gurus.”
Father Peter, aside from being a Master Teacher, has also been called an “Internet Guru” for his growing online presence in social media avenues such as YouTube, Facebook, internet streaming seminars and Twitter. Almost every week of the year, Father Peter travels nationally to give lectures and seminars on the Christian mystical path. Also an author, he has written and published several books, entitled The Word Within, The Radical Path, Spiritual Astrology, Steps on the Way, Pearls of the Kingdom and his autobiography, The Way, The Truth and The Life: An Autobiography of a Christian Master. He devotes his time to teaching and writing lectures and songs. A prolific musician and songwriter, Father Peter has numerous albums on the market, with the number growing every year.
Father Peter received his Masters and Doctoral degrees from Indiana University in Educational Psychology and practiced psychology for many years. He has two grown daughter and now lives in Chicago.
